Finishing #Shrinkvivor Week 2

HI all,

Well, I actually managed to lose 2.5 pounds this week! It is not what I wanted it to be, but I must be thankful for what loss I did get.  I now have 8 more pounds to lose in the next two weeks if I want to keep up with my original goal of 30 pounds by 11/29/11.  This weightloss thing is really hard.  I work very hard and eat well and feel that I should have lost more by now.  But, again, at least I am losing.

I worked out everyday this past week except Monday.  I just had to take that day off to think.  I got word that I didn’t get accepted for a job that I just knew would be a slam dunk.  I have/had a really good standing with that company and just can’t wrap around the fact that I didn’t get the job.  I mean, I was #2 for saves, I exceeded my goals, received the highest amount of commission there was to get and worked when they needed me.  I just can’t understand it.  So, that just really put me in an emotional spiral on monday.  I NEED a full-time job like you wouldn’t believe and I apply whereever I know I am qualified and am just not having any luck.  I mean, is the world against me for some reason?  Have I done something so bad that I deserve this?   In the end, I must move on and keep trying and do the best that I can with what I have.  That’s the only thing that I can do….KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!

This past week I exercised 519 minutes.  This week I plan on upping the walking minutes to where I walk in AM and PM and then will fit 1-2 fitness workouts in between that.  I am trying really, REALLY hard to get this weight off and it just seems that it is not where I feel it should be.  I don’t want to lose TOO much TOO fast, but, I do want to meet my goal.  I will also try to change up my diet slightly to see if that will help boost the weightloss as well.

ok, so on to this week’s challenge: (copied from shrinkingjeans.net)

Fitness Challenge

This week we are sticking with logging our exercise minutes. So keep on racking up those fitness minutes, ladies and gentlemen! Run, wog, Zumba, kickbox… get that heart pumping!

Mini Challenge

This week’s mini-challenge is to GO GREEN! Not in the typical recyclable sense, what we want you to do is eat something green with at least one meal. Every day. Obviously the best case scenario is 8-10 servings of fruits and veg a day. HOWEVER, sometimes getting in just ONE serving is a struggle so your mission should you choose to accept it is adding in GREEEEEEEEEN to your meal (or meals). Stick a giant head of broccoli on your plate and go to town (warning: Beano.) or eat a giant salad of spinach instead of iceberg lettuce, just get MORE GREEN. Try doing it every day and if you want to go for more, go for more!

The mini challenge will definately be a little tough for me, I buy greens all the time, it’s just a matter of remembering to actually eat them.lol  I will make this one of my missions then…:-)

‘Til next week….

GO MAROON MANIACS!!!!!!

Blessings

#Shrinkvivor Check-In and New Challenge

Hello,

This week started out really well and then crashed and burned.  Saturday was my hardest day of all that started the downfall.  I woke up feeling nausious and then after grocery shopping fell asleep for about 3 hours.  I got up and exercised and then about an hour later, I spent quite a while in the bathroom with a sick stomach.  I was unable to exercise on Sunday due to this; my body was just too weak. Then, on Monday and Tuesday, I only was able to get in about half the exercising time in as I did earlier on during the week.  I popped my hip doing exercises and pulled a muscle from the top of my thigh to about mid-ways down.

As far as weigh-in goes, I sadly have to report that I weigh the same as I did last week.  I take that as a disappointment and a blessing all at the same time.  I worked harder this week than normal.  So, in some ways, I feel that it was a waste or maybe I’m just not doing something right.  But, then I have to remember that my body has been swollen since yesterday as it is getting ready for that oh so lovely time of the month.  When I think of this, I feel great not gaining or losing anything as it could have very well been a gain instead. So, I am very thankful (but still wishing we didn’t have to count “those” weeks..lol).

Fitness Challenge
Last week we kept track of our exercise minutes. We liked that so much that we are doing it again this week. Get out there and walk, run, zumba, go to boot camp or whatever it is that you like to do. Make sure you keep track of your minutes.

Mini-Challenge
This week’s mini-challenge is something that I struggle with just about every day. We are going to try to get a good nights sleep. I am the worst at this. We should all be sleeping at least 7 hours a night, 9 is even better. I average about 5 or 5 1/2 hours a night. Not good at all! So let’s all give this a try. I promise you’ll feel better with more rest and it will even help with weight loss.

This week, I plan on adding Bob Harper’s Body Rev Cardio Conditioning.  I am hoping to be able to work my way up to the full 1 hour program.  I have done another of his dvd’s and never was able to get out of the beginner’s workout.  So, we’ll see how this works.  This will be my personal challenge. :-)   Also, since supposedly we are not able to do inversions in yoga during menstruating, I will skip yoga this week and maybe fill it with more walking or something.

Here’s to wishing everyone a happy and prosperous week!!!!

Good Luck !!

Jamie
